Laser Hair Removal Chin

Having hair growth on your chin can be embarrassing for women. There are different types of hair growth that women can get on their chins. From only a few fine light hairs which aren’t as apparent, to thick, dark hair which can be very uncomfortable and noticeable. There are several different removal methods, one of which is chin laser hair removal. Laser treatments for the chin have proved to be a very effective long term solution for women looking to permanently rid themselves of chin hair.

Some men are also unhappy with their chin hairs. Although it is natural for men to have chin hairs, some don’t like shaving this area every day. It is common for males to turn to laser hair removal so that they can save the time it takes to shave each day. This also saves more money in the long term with the money saved on all those years of buying razors, after shave and shaving cream.

Alternatives to Chin Laser Hair Removal

Electrolysis: This option is the only other hair removal method that that is considered truly permanent. Electrolysis can be expensive although the costs will vary depending on the size of the area and the number of hair follicles that need to be treated. Each hair follicle needs individual attention and depending on the amount of growth, the procedure can take between 2 and 12 hours, with costs ranging from $25 to $100 per hour. Electrolysis is more time consuming and more painful than laser hair removal on the chin.

Depilatories: These are strong chemicals that dissolve the hair. Before applying these chemicals you should test a small area on another part of the body that is not so visible and see how your skin reacts. This method is not permanent and may cause skin damage if not done properly.

Tweezing: For the few stray hairs on the chin, tweezing is a good option. Invest in a quality pair of tweezers, perform the procedure in good light, preferably with a magnifying mirror, and pull the hair out straight in the direction of growth.

Waxing: This is perhaps the most popular method of female chin hair removal. It is inexpensive and these days, many waxing preparations have additional ingredients to soothe the skin. This method is not permanent. Hair usually grows back after a few days, so waxing your chin must be done on a regular basis.

Hair Removal Creams: There are some creams such as Vaniqa and Kalo that can help the hair removal of chin hairs. These options are not permanent but could prove to be effective for longer periods of time compared to other conventional methods.

Laser Hair Removal for Chin Hairs

Laser hair removal is very popular and much cheaper than electrolysis (the other permanent solution to chin hair removal). Female chin laser hair removal can be economical and long lasting. Unlike electrolysis where each hair follicle is treated one by one, lasers can target several hair follicles at once. Each laser hair removal chin session can be finished in just 2 to 3 minutes. Repeated sessions are necessary to catch all the hairs as hair is in different stages of growth at any given time. This option is one of the most effective and painless methods for hair removal of chin hairs, however it is more expensive than some of other options available.

Costs and Number of Treatments for Laser Hair Removal of the Chin

The chin is a relatively small area to have treated, making the prices more affordable than laser treatments on other larger parts of the body. The general price range for chin laser hair removal is $100 – $200 per treatment session.

The price will vary among each person. Pricing depends on several factors including geographic location, which clinic you choose, your skin type, the thickness of the hair, how much hair is on your chin, number of treatments needed and other factors that will be discussed in your consultation.

The number of treatments you will need is about 3 sessions. This depends upon your skin type and color, and your hair type and color. Your practitioner will advise you on the number of treatments they think you will need to get good long term results. Sessions for chin laser hair removal are very short due to the small area being treated.

It is important to have a thorough consultation with a qualified practitioner and even have a test area done on a part of the body not so visible. Every individual is different when it comes to skin type, hair texture, color, etc. and all these variables can have an effect on how successful the procedure will be.
